Active valve control and capacity regulation system

We create systems that allow dynamic adjustment of compressor capacity based on production needs.

Active Performance Control System

The active valve control and capacity regulation system consists of devices that forcibly hold the suction valves of a reciprocating compressor open for a specified amount of time when compression stroke occurs. This allows gas to flow back from the working chamber to the suction pipe. After valve closure, compression and discharge processes proceed normally. However, less gas is delivered to discharge compared to a full cylinder cycle. The power required for compression is reduced.

Advantages of this system:

  • Reduced compression power (compared to bypassing)
  • High precision, speed and variability of regulation
  • Full automation of performance control
  • Smooth compressor loading/unloading during start/stop
  • Built-in valve temperature sensors
Relative cylinder volume
Pressure
Energy Savings at Partial Load

This system provides automatic and continuous capacity regulation and allows achieving the precise value required for the equipment receiving gas from the compressor.

Can be installed on both new and existing compressors.

Supplied with specially designed valves rated for use with this system.

The active valve control and capacity regulation system is an electro-hydraulic system that provides smooth regulation of gas reverse flow (capacity regulation) in the loading range from 0% (or 20%) to 100%. The system integrates with the overall control system.

Active Performance Control System

Scope of supply included in the system:

  • System design
  • Control programming
  • Valves, actuators, valve caps, retainers
  • Control panel and hydraulic station
  • Piping
  • Installation and commissioning
  • Interface module with overall control system

We can retrofit a similar system from another well-known manufacturer with our upgraded system with minimal changes: we diagnose the existing system and, if everything but electronic modules is operational and undamaged, we replace the modules and install more advanced software.

If any mechanical or hydraulic components of another manufacturer's system are faulty or require maintenance, we can perform repairs and service.
